New Wordpress 2.6.3 Security Update

October 24th, 2008

After a a low risk vulnerability was discovered in the Snoopy library, which is used to fetch the feeds shown in the Control Panel Dashboard, WordPress has released a security update to their blogging software.

Because this is a security issue, all WordPress users must upgrade. If you don’t want to download the entire WordPress program you can just download the following two files and copy them over your 2.6.2 installation.

This is the easiest Wordpress update yet.

Google AdSense reporting and Google Analytics

Google announced what we’ve all been waiting on for ages - they’re integrating AdSense with Google Analytics stats. It isn’t available to all publishers yet but you could be one of the lucky ones who can see an invitation in your AdSense admin area.

If you get asked the same questions over and over again then Gmail Canned Responses will save you a lot of time with FAQs. Canned Responses is a feature you can turn on in Google Labs and allows you to type up responses and to save them as templates.

Google Reader and iGoogle are siblings

If you are a regular iGoogle and Google Reader user now you can combine them both in iGoogle. The same powerful Reader is now available in iGoogle, complete with keyboard shortcuts, expanded and list views, infinite scrolling and embedded videos. The Reader gadget has also been updated to take advantage of the canvas view: you can now share, email and browse through your folders and subscriptions, all within iGoogle.
